La Colina, or "The Hill", is an exclusive, private development on the North Coast of the Dominican Republic. Lush, spacious lots that boast ocean views in a tropical setting, La Colina was designed for those wanting to feel immersed in nature but with the comfort and safety of a guarded, gated development.

The Cocomellos moved to the Dominican Republic from Montreal, Canada in 2021. They dreamt of living on a spacious property with chickens and fruit trees but with guarded security. They searched high and low, but could only find gated communities with encroachingly small lots or suburban-feeling developments with manicured lawns and strict HOA rules. Refusing to surrender their vision, and armed with Gino Cocomello's building knowledge as a licensed general contractor and journeymen carpenter,  the Cocomellos decided to develop their own community, one that would allow space for semi-self-sustainability and be set among the lush greenery of a tropical landscape.
